SOJ Jazz Center
The SOJ Jazz Music Center was
founded in 1973 by John Castellano, The Collective’s Director, as a center for jazz studies focusing on ensemble workshops
for all instruments. It is now one of the oldest and most respected jazz studies programs in New York City. Students are grouped
with other musicians of the same experience level, creating a fun and comfortable environment for musical growth. The curriculum
includes ensembles in Jazz and Latin-Jazz. In 1990, SOJ became the ensemble division of The Collective.
